Re: MOB Pole

I have a MOB pole that I'm not using and plan to throw in a corner of the garage soon. If you pay for shipping, it's yours. It also does not come with a flag though you could buy one of those for $40. Where are you? I'm in San Francisco.

Re: MOB Pole

I'm in Gloucester MA 01930. Is it a 2 piece pole, and how long is it? I'll check to find shipping cost.

Gamster you're the best!

(you have any barrels of whiskey you are tired of storing?)

Re: MOB Pole

I had a long day on the water and it is now too late to post a picture, which I will do tomorrow. It's just one piece that is heavy on one end and has a float on the other. I think it's around 6'. Maybe 25-30 lbs. I'll pull it out of the lazarette tomorrow and provide more details.

Thanks, MdR. I'd be in big trouble if there were any barrels of whiskey around, though I'd be happy to share. I've become particularly fond of rye whiskey lately.

Re: MOB Pole

Thanks for your efforts but it's too expensive to ship it to the east coast. I've found one nearby that is a short car ride away.

This Rye thing is something I haven't delved into, but hear of the fondness for... Methinks I should do some research...

I would consider it if accompanied with a measure of rye whiskey...

Actually I might... me pole is a bit hairy, and worn out... (he... he... MOB pole)... Lemme see if it warrants a refurb, or if acquiring another is a better route!

Re: MOB Pole

I saw some cool instant inflatable ones at the boat show that looked promising... Too expensive and heavy at the moment for me, but saw some potential.

Greg...

What? Spring training is over and you got nuthin' to do?

I don't think gamayun's pole is long enough to reach from Gilbert to any body of water...

Re: MOB Pole

Hi MdR,

Yea, it will be 112 deg today, the spring training teams are wisely long gone by now! As far as water goes, we have some nice freshwater destinations but its a long haul to saltwater and my boat : )

Gamayun, MdR expressed first interest, so let me know if he passes and decides to keep his hairy pole : )

Re: MOB Pole

It wasn't clear if MdR was serious or not. Perhaps you guys can arm wrestle and decide who's gonna take it. But I think the measure of rye whiskey should be sent my way for the effort to unbury the pole from the lazarette ;-)

Yea... But it's a dry 112... I Probably have as much time in as you in the desert heat, ain't nuthin' like the South says this SoCal boy... MS heat is like breathing steaming oatmeal... MOB pole answer below...
PS: Where's ur boat at mang?

Gamster... clearly n7zpx has a boner-fide interest in your pole... I've taken a good hard look at my pole, and have made an informed decision... (I will refrain from sharing pictures, as I think it is in the best interest of all parties involved...) I've determined that my hairy condition could be easily rectified by a simple maintenance program... Unlike the painful Brazilian procedure, I plan on "laying down" the offensive hairs, and encapsulating them in an epoxy resin... This will ensure that unsuspecting crew will no longer be poked by my offensive pole...

Therefore n7zpx, if he abides by all of the US postal obscenity laws AND... provides some manner of rye compensation.... May have your pole...

Re: MOB Pole

That was evocative, MD, but you really should post some pictures instead.

Greg F, I'm getting info on shipping costs and will let you know.
