Moisture Meter

Model GRP33 moisture meter by JR Overseas Company in excellent condition for use in detecting osmosis, hull moisture, or tracing leaks. Includes all items that originally came with the meter plus a carrying case. $200 plus shipping from Minneapolis.

Specs:

The GRP-33 model comes packed in a soft sided compartmentalized instrument case. The dial face, analog meter clearly indicates moisture levels in fiberglass up to 3% and in wood up to 30%.

Calibration may be checked quickly with the provided test block and, if necessary, resetting is easily accomplished in less than two minutes.Model GRP-33's advance construction permits a limited warranty of 2 years from date of purchase.

A Marine Meter designed for the assessment and investigation of moisture contained within fiberglass and wooden structures
Detect "Osmosis" before gel coat blistering becomes a visual reality.
Monitor hull dryness for repairs and painting.
Identify and trace leaks.
Uses non-destructive, capacitance method, measuring electronically up to 1" deep.
Accurately provides readings on structures subject to salt, brackish and fresh water.
Refers to a quantitative scale for fiberglass and a scale range of up to 30% moisture for wood.
Two Year Limited Warranty.
Uses a common 9v Battery as its long lasting power source.
Recalibration may be accomplished precisely and with ease using the furnished acrylic calibration block and copper panel.

When conducting marine surveys, the non-destructive feature makes the GRP-33 especially well suited for appraisal work, damage inspection, and repair procedures. Because the meter will readily detect water well below the surface of the wood or fiber-glass, even qualitative readings are of great value in locating moisture, hidden water pockets and leaks.

Just move the sensing pad from spot to spot in order to reveal abnormal areas which may require further detailed inspection. Woodwork, such as shipwright carpentry, may be examined without damage, to reveal the likelihood of rot.
The Marine Moisture Meter GRP 33 is recommended for use by Surveyors, Boat Yards, Yacht Brokers, Marine Coating Cos., Yacht Designers, Marine Repair Specialists, Boat Owners and the Lumber Industry.
