It was new in January. It's now almost July. That makes it 6 months old, not "new". Thread title is wrong. So is the price.

Re: NEW Liferaft offshore 4 man

To the op,

In your PM to me a few minutes ago you requested genuine enquiries only. In light of that could I genuinely ask where you bought the liferaft from and if you purchased it new? Do you still have the receipt to prove you purchased it genuinely? Also, could I genuinely ask why you feel a 6 month old liferaft is worth nearly as much as a new one that one could buy from a bone fide store with a genuine warranty?

Yours, genuinely,

Bill

Re: NEW Liferaft offshore 4 man

I obviously have proof of purchase, they are new, unused and in storage.

Re: NEW Liferaft offshore 4 man

All kinds of "new" stuff for sail in this part of Florida. It's a sliding scale really based on how dishonest the seller is. But, 6 months is some of the newest of the new around here.

Moral of the story; buy the liferaft last.

Re: NEW Liferaft offshore 4 man

Hey Allen, I guess you're supposed to buy something, not use it and then when and if you want to sell it, you're suppose to ask 10 cents on the dollar asking price, then let the buyer beat you down to 5 cents on the dollar, and put up with pricing "experts" who have real interest in buying. Oh yeah, and post your new item as used so as not to misled uninterested buyers.
Bet you glad you listed here to sell!!!

Re: NEW Liferaft offshore 4 man

still has to be re-certified, at a cost, and will break down with time. if you think its a great deal buy it. i have offered him $300 for it. he did not respond.

Re: NEW Liferaft offshore 4 man

These newer cheapo rafts (Plastimo, Revere, Viking) are bascially throwaways. There're not worth the $800-$1200 to recertify. You buy it new carry it for 3-5 years then flog it off on Ebay. Buy a new one or swallow the anchor.

Buy one new from the distributor just prior to your intended passage. Who's headed offshore from N America at this time of year? Will be another 6 months closer to dead in November. Not to give this guy a further hard time, but that is the realities of these units.
