New Raymarine ST1000plus Tillerpilot

Autopilot for smaller tiller based boats. Also good choice as AP to drive a windvane on bigger boats (this is what I bought it for, but it never got used).
The unit is new and never installed. I did hook it up to power to test it. The cardboard box is not in good shape, the unit is perfect. The brass mount (lower left of pics) is a little dirty and the tiller pin is missing and would need to be fashioned out of a rounded stainless screw.

Re: New Raymarine ST1000plus Tillerpilot

Does this unit work as a stand alone device? Or do you need a fluxgate compass and 'black box' control device connected to it as well? I have one (ST1000 plus) but assumed it would not work unless I had the other 2 things.
Thanks in advance,
Pete

This is self contained. All it requires is 12 volts DC

Thanks, great news. Maybe I have something that will actually work.
Time to give it a try.
