Pair of Barlow 32 Chrome Winches

I have a pair of Barlow 32 Chrome winches for sail. Re-chromed 2010. Good working order. Not self tailing. Currently used as primary spinnaker winches on a Swan 44. I want to replace with self tailing winches. Sensible offers please

Re: Pair of Barlow 32 Chrome Winches

Perhaps you should make the first move on price, as people might think "I can't afford anything shiny that's been on a Swan 44".

I'm the owner of a boat with two Barlow 26s of very similar look, and while they are a great winch, they are rather antique. You have to know about ARCO and that Lewmar pawl springs will generally work.

Re: Pair of Barlow 32 Chrome Winches

The new cost of a pair of Lewmar winches of similar size is £4000.

I believe a guide-price of £500 for the pair is reasonable. They are both in good condition and were re-chromed last year.

Fair enough. Glad I know how to service mine, however!

Just so you know, hutton - arco does rebuilds on these to self tailing for around 1/2 price of new winches same size. Also supply spares.

They rebuilt mine a 18 months ago, and am happy with result.
