Parting out Perkins 4-154

Bought a new Cummins to replace my Perkins 4-154. The old engine ran fine but I didn't want to start a cruise with an engine that was so hard to buy new parts for. I had to dissemble much of the engine to get it out.

I have the original starter that has been rebuilt by a reputable electric shop. It has never been used since the rebuild. It is much heavier than the new starter that I bought some years ago. The newer starter is also for sale; though it is lighter, it works just fine.

The mixing elbow only has a few hours on it.

Also for sale is a Balmar 75 amp alternator with the 612 smart regulator.

I would also like to sell my Hurth transmission. I can't identify the model #. However, it was used on the 62 hp perkins. The Hurth has always been trouble free. The gear ratio that sticks in my head is 3.96:1--but I am not sure. The Hurth is sitting in my garage and I can measure the ratio if any one is interested.

Some of the parts are in Huntsville and the engine block is in Muscle Shoals Alabama. Give me a call at 256 479 4508.
