Pedestal guard

Have you upgraded your pedestal guard to one of those fancy new ones? If so, I'd love to buy your old straight pedestal guard. Ideally I'd like one with the top plate and feet, but I'm open to just about anything you may have lying around. I will need this shipped to Canada but will obviously pay the associated cost.

Re: Pedestal guard

Me too, I'm so tired of people tearing the compass out.

I'm in Brooklyn, NY.

Thank you!

Re: Pedestal guard

I have my original Edson straight pedestal guard. Swapped for a taller unit to have room to install a plotter at the helm.

Good condition but has a couple of small holes from the PO mounting a cockpit table and GPS mount.

Unfortunately, I need a straight guard because of the configuration of my helm- the traveler is directly ahead of the pedestal and the angle guards will interfere with the swing of the mainsheet. Thanks anyway! Perhaps someone else may need an angled guard.

Re: Pedestal guard

What width do you need? I believe they come in 9.5 and 12 inch widths. I will be upgrading shortly to an angled guard. I have a straight one currently with a 9.5 width.

I'm in the market for an angled guard right now.

Re: Pedestal guard

You need the size of plate. Tube width and spacing width. Tube runes from 7/8 to 1 inch to 1-1/4 and spread is different depending on plate and pod size. Figure out what pedestal brand you have and what size plate you need then figure the tubing size. Best of luck.

Re: Pedestal guard

Take a look at the Portland Oregon Craigslist. "Sailboat steering station". It is an older Edson, but might work for you. _____Grant.
