Perfect Starter Boat for the Dream: PY26 Paceship Coastal Cruiser 26' - Annapolis

She's berthed just south of Annapolis, MD. Marina fees are paid through 2010. This is the perfect first boat to launch your own cruising dream! Our contact information, photos and more details are on our blog at For Sale | Picaroon Blog

The Perfect Chesapeake Cruiser

This is a great little family cruiser for the Chesapeake Bay. She’s very roomy inside for a 26 footer, and can comfortably do weekend trips with four adults. With centerboard up, she draws only 2’7″ – perfect for gunkholing the Bay’s many shallow inlets.
The PY26 has a reputation as a quick boat, and she sails very well to weather. She has a suit of three sails, including a fairly new mainsail with ‘Chaps by Ralph Lauren’ emblazoned on it in large letters (gets a reaction from the Hinckley set). The working jib and 150 Genoa are on a twin foil Harken roller furler.

Power is from an Evinrude 15hp outboard. The original inboard diesel died and was pulled in 2009, but the boat still has propshaft, fuel tank, and controls for an inboard so her new owner can decide whether or not to repower. The outboard is faster and easier to maneuver, however.
The cockpit is set up well for sailing, and there is a new tiller and new fiddle block on the bridgedeck-mounted mainsheet traveller. All winches were recently serviced and work smoothly. The compass is new, as is the Garmin fishfinder/sounder. The Sunbrella cockpit cushions are new, and there is a stainless charcoal grille mounted on the rail, as well as a Sunbrella awning.

Below, she feels more like a 30 footer, with 6ft headroom in key places. Aft, there is a galley with sink, icebox and alcohol stove. To port is a large quarter-berth under the cockpit. Forward of that is the saloon, with recently upholstered bench settees/berths and fold-down table. The head is a separate compartment, with sink and portable marine toilet. In the forpeak is a V-berth cabin.
This is a perfect first boat–very forgiving, very comfortable, and it comes with the rest of 2010′s marina fees paid and a newly painted bottom. We never painted on her name, so you can call her what you like.
