Pfaff 130

It is a heavy duty domestic machine, well known to cruising sailors. There is a picture of its most recent job, the chaps for our dinghy, on a thread I started about it in the sewing group.

This is a 110 VAC machine, and will require use of a stepdown transformer or re-motoring for electrical use in Australia.

Straight stitch and zigzag, fwd. and reverse.

Original manual, toolbox, and bobbin box with 12 bobbins, 2 spare bobbin case screws and 2 zipper feet.

Hand crank and heavy balance wheel, original balance wheel included.

Originally a cabinet machine, it is now in a non Pfaff scruffy portable case.

250.00 AUD

Local pickup required.

Re: Pfaff 130

Oops! I left out that the Pfaff is aboard the boat, in Hobart, Tasmania for the next few weeks, then around Tasmania in other locations, then, we'll be moving slowly towards Queensland. Sorry for the inconvenience,

Ann

Re: Pfaff 130

Great machine for a good price! Best of luck. If I didn't have a nice Sailrite already, I'd buy it.

Re: Pfaff 130

I just bought a pfaff 230 off of craigslist for $40. I was super excited, as I'm a 33yo male my friends just don't understand! Even my wife thinks its a bit odd to get so excited over a sewing machine... My sailing friends on the other hand were more understanding! The 230 has the same insides as the 130 just in an updated housing. It still has the 1.3amp external motor and the metal cogged timing belt. Keep an eye out as a lot of times they get over looked by people looking for the 130's.

As a note to 110 power. Most of the 130-260 Pfaff's used a universal motor. Meaning they can be run off of AC or DC. It should say so right on the motor plate. However, on mine it says 70VDC so it would require a little rework on the battery wiring, probably easiest just to use an inverter...

Whoever gets it should be a very happy camper for $250!

Re: Pfaff 130

I bought a almost like new 130 a few years ago from a repair shop that sales on EBay. They put a video of it sewing through like 5-6 layers of leather than many layers of denim. I think I paid around $350-400 plus shipping and its still boxed up. I thought I might learn to sew but never did. Anyone in the Texas area interested in in let me know.

Re: Pfaff 130

... Also I didn't mean to suggest it's overpriced, only that I got a killer deal from someone's kid cleaning out their parent's house. At that price with all the accessories Anne is giving this away. The 230's usually go for 250-300 on ebay, sometimes cheaper but those are fully serviced. Mine was in need of some attention but worked when plugged in. Now if I can only figure out what all these feet do!

Re: Pfaff 130

And for the rest of you out there, please note I failed to disclose that the motor is not the original Pfaff motor. It failed and somewhere between 1960 and 1965, was replaced by a motor from a sewing machine shop. That second motor was replaced in 1989, similarly from a sewing machine shop, and is not a Pfaff motor, either.

Thank you, appick for jogging my memory!

Ann
