Rare DC Electrical Panel for Sale!

Original and rare mid-seventies DC electrical panel for sale. All breakers work, as do meter, battery test toggle, and red power light. DC electrical panel has been independently rated by BPCOAM as retaining 38% of its original gloss! Install this panel and feel sailboat history power through your wiring system. $697.00 for both -- plus shipping. As an added bonus I will include (free) a vintage Alternator Charge Control unit with your panel.

I think you'd have to be a "Willard" purist involved in a true to original restoration to sink that much into an OEM panel! Don't get me wrong, OEM parts for true to original restorations can be pricey, I once saw a hood ornament for a 62 Mercury maurader go for almost a grand!

Smitten I am...I love the smell of half burnt bakerlite in the morning,.....the gentle glow of a slow blow fuse ,refusing to give out...the twitch and twiddle of a needle that is wrestling with a life time of salt. The stickiness of the switches, that have never been cleaned. Switched on in a desperate attempt to stop the impending parenteral romance of another boat late at night.....after a few ....SMACK,*^%%$#crunch few drinks.....because the bloody nav lights where not on.....and didnt work anyway.....

ah yes history that I have paid for.....but would not want to pay for a reminder of....

I like MV's sense of humor about this.

Does that mean it's not available anymore?

Gord, I must be becoming enured to high prices by the monopoly money at the gas pumps...I saw that BS breaker panel and thought for a moment $500 wasn't unreasonable for it. Ten $10 breakers, one $50 meter, $50 for a panel, ten more for the battery switch...Finally the math woke me up and made me realize, that's still a lot of boat bucks. Nice looking panel, though, very nicely made with the red edges on the breakers and all. OK, I'd go $300, $350 tops.

Come on, let's go to China and start contracting the knock-off shops...

aahhh, that panel was built back in the glory days, when fiberglass was cheap and they built them thick like tanks. Men were men, and consumers weren't afraid of a little asbestos insulation. I'm sure the alternator charge controller doesn't have any of the modern sissy features like temperature limiting devices to reduce the output, or '3 step' junk features. Back in the day when a 100 amp alternator actually put out 100 amps, LED is what the Captain did, and you knew your panel was overloaded when you smelled the smoke. I'll bid it up to $750
