I can tell you, THEY REALLY WORK! I have had seasickness in the past and putting this on gives instant relief. Unfortunately my daughter misplaced mine when we took a Carnival family cruise this past spring break.
They no longer produce the relief band with the replaceable battery. The company that manufactures them is marketing it more toward the medical field (morning sickness, chemo-therapy patients, etc.) and have learned that by making the battery non-replaceable, and only having it last about 30 days, they can tap into the prescription drug market. Since it is a "medical" device, you may be able to get insurance to cover the cost of the prescription for the relief band.
But I'm with you, I'd much rather have a replaceable battery, like I did before we lost mine.
Let me know if you find any old style for sale. I'd love to pick another one up.
