Replacement Engine

We are in need of a good working Beta or Yanmar engine to replace our Atomic 4, that died in our Pearson 33 and ruined our winter ICW trip.....
contact us at beaglesmith (AT) msn (dot) com. We would prefer to buy a new engine, but dont have the funds, but if you have any ideas of finding a cheap new engine, please contact us.
Thanks for any and all info

If you are fairly handy and understand mechanics, many yards would love to get rid of rebuildable marine engines for next to nothing that they have removed from their clients boats. Dropping in a new set of main bearings, rings and gaskets and rebuilding the water pump is fairly straight forward and can be done in a few days at the outside. As long as the engine is fairly common, you won't have a problem getting manufactured parts for the job. Good idea to size it slightly stronger than the one you are replacing as long as it fits the area you remove the old one from. This would save you heaps of $ but if you try and buy a 'cheap new' one, you might have a long wait... Capt Phil
