For Sale: Storm Sail, 26' Luff, 8' Foot

Reinforced heavy duty storm sail by HARD SAILS, Inc. NY.

Sail # 0977- 3B (could be 0911 but I think it's 0977, possible denoting a 1977 sail?)
Minimal Use: Stored inside from 1995 to present. Used 5-7 times from 1988 to 1995.

Sail dimensions:

Luff: 26' 7" (leading edge)

Leech: 24'6" (Aft edge)

Foot: 8'

Reinforced, double stitched clews. Full Wire Luff with eight brass heavy duty hanks.

Sail is made up of eight horizontal panels, with the top being one that is the
12-15 inch reinforced panel.

Bottom panel of about two feet has four vertical reinforcement stitches.

Two Batten pockets (no battens), with four tics on sail.

Comes with generic cloth sail bag.

Pretty clean other than a few light dirt marks and very small spots when looked at closely. Would look great with minimal cleaning, or just use as is.

No rips, tears or stains.

Heavy weight, 99% it is Dacron. Still has crinkle, hard to say how much.


It was used on a Cal 25 so it was fairly big for this boat. We used it as a heavy weather sail.

I am trying to determine a fair price and will be open to fair offers.
