I have just bought a new plastimo offshore plus 8 man liferaft in a valise for $1 900 from these guys. They have a few more.I am not affiliated with Navimo but it was a great deal for me and might be good for you too !! You can call them at 866.383.1888

That's the phone number for Navimo, the owners of Plastimo, who say on their web page that they do not sell anything directly to go to their dealers.

What makes those rafts surplus? Out of date and needing a repack, or obsoleted model?

Ask them to sell you one at European prices, they will be cheaper still. For some reason liferafts (all makes) in the USA are at crazy prices, roughly double what we pay over here. I couldn't believe the prices when I enquired for one for our new boat which is in Florida. A new 6 man cannister raft here is around $1200 and that includes 20% VAT (sales tax).

I am only trying to pass on "what i think is a good deal.The model i bought is still being sold by WM for $ 4 289.Cheapest price i could find for this model is $ 3500. I have 2 years before it needs a service. It is out the box , which came sealed , and is new....and yes , like i said , i bought it from Navimo and they sold it to me directly.
You can happily buy a 12 year raft here on the forum for 600 bucks and they are selling 6 man rafts for 1200 new.
These models have been on the shelf too long and therefore being sold at discounted pricesprices

I bought one used...er, I mean second hand for $900.

Needs certifying in Charleston so that adds several hundred. Not in hard case either.
