I thought I did in Post #13. This Tartan 34c is a strong boat and suits my needs just fine. You are correct, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You must behold to appreciate her beauty. No blisters no soft spots.

Smj, site down, have a glass of wine or rum, relax... The feeling will pass, I felt the same way, took Me 24h to get over it :-)

I have been around long enough to know an interested buyer will eventually, if logistics permit, make an appointment to see the boat of interest. My boat is priced fairly. I either expect a knowledgeable buyer to know what he is looking at in this very simple Tartan 34c, or the inexperienced to hire a surveyor if he feels it imperative to cover his "investment". Pictures sometime embellish and I would not expect a purchase sight unseen. There are nicer, better equipped Tartan 34c's on the market, also fairly priced. I'm always prepared to entertain an offer. My Tartan 34c has no blisters ( she is has a solid fiberglass hull ) and the decks are strong. She is a minimalist Tartan 34c. Just the basics. Add the rest to suit your requirements and budget. There are thousands of boats on the market to choose from. I like my choice of pedigree for the waters I sail and the kind of sailing I do. Can hardly wait for spring.

Tar34 I couldn't agree more. Your boat is fairly priced and basic to me is a plus not a minus. This is the first time in well over 20 years that we haven't owned a boat. Yours is the first monohull that's had me salivating in awhile!

Northern Yacht Restoration
Northern Yacht Restoration |

This is the definitive Tartan 34c restoration. While there are, I think, some excesses in choice of replacement hardware ( the Newfound metals opening ports seem heavy and garish and the addition of the main salon overhead LED lights are stylistically out of place ) this baring of the soul of the Tartan 34c is without equal. All boat owners contemplating or in the midst of a restoration should be so lucky to have such a resource as this. This is a ongoing restoration
in its second year. The documentation is excellent. To really enjoy the lead up to the current state of progression resist the temptation to leap ahead. There is a surprise which will all boat owners looking to re-power will appreciate. Happily my Tartan does not share some of the shortcomings of this particular Tartan 34c. My decks dry, and the hull is solid glass. Nevertheless, this article is illustrative detailed, and resource for any owner or DIYer no matter the boat.

The boat is in the water ready to sail. I'm happy to show it anytime.

Nice boat Tar34.

Classic case of wrong-coast-itus or we would be exchanging phone numbers through PM right now. I'm one of those weirdos that goes both ways, both power or sail. My only requirement is clean and classy and your boat nails both of those requirements.

Re: Tartan 34c

Very nice boat. I was looking at one when I found my Hallberg Rassy. It was sold the day I looked at it. Otherwise i might have bought it. great price too. Too bade a few cherry picking, tire kickers have shown up for this thread. Personally, I think you are way too under-priced. I laugh when I read the nit-picking that goes on for a $12,900. boat that is turn-key...
