Tartan 37-C for sale

After twenty loving years of ownership, my wife and I decided that it is time move on and sell "Tortuga's Lie". She's a 1977 Sparkman & Stephens designed Tartan 37 with the centerboard. Tortuga's Lie has had many, many upgrades throughout our guardianship and shows like a new boat. I have added new stainless portlights, overhead hatches, cowl vents, and grab rails on the deck level but it is the interior that really shines. I have added raised panel solid teak cabinet doors, entertainment/pantry cabinets, central heat/AC, Frigoboat Keelcooler refrigeration, tile countertops, refinished the interior teak with semi-gloss urethane (not the dirty looking oiled teak most have), new 6V battery bank(2014), Raymarine electronics including: W/D/S, wheel pilot and A-60 color chart plotter, Link Pro battery monitor, 270 watts of solar w/ regulator, AmpAir wind generator w/regulator, new Blue Seas circuit panel.........and the list goes on! 7 sails: (2) mainsails, 100% working jib, 135% & 150% genoas (all on furler), storm jib, and a genoa staysail. Some sails are like new, some have wear but all are usable. I recently rebuilt both the rudder and the centerboard, so no worries there. She has a heavy barrier coat to protect from blisters.

As you can see from above, we have made an ordinary Tartan 37 into a well equipped cruising boat that is truly "turn-key". If interested, we are thinking 68K (U.S.$) would be a fair price for both buyer and seller. I need someone who will love her as much as we have for the past twenty years, are you that person?
if interested, please PM me and I can send pictures, more info.
Sincerely,
Tom.

Re: Tartan 37-C for sale

Forgot to mention that Tortuga's Lie also has a dual anchor rollers with a windlass, a 33lb Bruce & a 35 lb Delta anchor with a separated anchor locker. She also has a dodger/bimini set up with full wrap around enclosure making the cockpit a nice space on a rainy day!

Nice boat! I'm always amazed at how Tartans look new even after 20 or more years in the water. Wish I was in the market

Re: Tartan 37-C for sale

Tortuga's Lie ~ Thanks for your post. I've had my 1979 Columbia 10-7 for about 25 years, and have always maintained that she can be brought to new condition (I've been working on that part-time for about 5yrs now). Your post validates my efforts. I'm an older guy and moving very slowly, but it is a labor of love. Tortuga's Lie looks in better than new condition with your upgrades and time spent. I'm not hoping for such a result, but I keep working.

Re: Tartan 37-C for sale

Looks like a Wonderful boat. Please consider me "interested" even though she's a tad above my price point... I will consult with the Admiral to see if it's a doable. Can you forward some pics to my email so I can "sell" to the Admiral?

Re: Tartan 37-C for sale

Carl,
Thanks for the post, I am currently working on a Power Point presentation so you can download it with lots of pics (hopefully it'll work)

Carl, I just noticed that you have a Cal 28? Before we went with this Tartan, we had a 1972 Cal 27! Cool.

Very nice yacht! How does the stability of the centerboard version compare with the fixed keel version?
