Looking to buy an affordable wind generator for my 38' sloop. Want to pole mount it on aft deck. Boat located in the North West.

I looked into that too. A friend who works at West Marine tells me they last about 5 years until the bearings wear out. You can make them last longer by tying off the blades when you don't need the power. New ones cost from $600 to $1000 plus the cost of the pole and mounting hardware.

My seven year old KISS is still working well. It's used 6 months every year and I have no complaints. Hope this doesn't jinx me!

I have a "Windbugger" that I purchased many years ago but never installed in on the boat I had. It has been sitting in my closet from then on, lol. It is the 2-bladed prop. It is for a pole mount. I have the wind vane attachment that goes with it. The other small hardware (generic) stuff had been lost over time.
