Water generator spinner

I don't quite know what type of device this is for. I think it's for a water generator. Hole is for one quarter-inch line. $40 Plus shipping

Re: Water generator spinner

It's the propellor for a trailing log. Line goes in the hole then back to an instrument attached to the boat that counts the revolutions and calculates the speed.

Correct! Hydro generators' blades look much ore like outboard props... in fact, our homebrew drag generator used a 6 hp Johnson Prop... but they need more diameter and more blade area to produce torque to spin the generator.

There are still folks who like to use Walker logs... with a little patience you will be able to sell that item. No idea about what you should ask for it, though.

Re: Water generator spinner

It's the 'spinner' off a 'Big Ship' Walker Excelsior Log such as this one Vintage Walkers Excelsior IV Ships LOG Brass W Spinner Nautical Maritime Cased | eBay
Not a 'yacht' Walker log... they are only about 4 inches long... and plastic....

Re: Water generator spinner

I bought it as a spare for my yacht log. When I got it home, realized it didn't match. Nice to know what it is from.
