Re: Watermaker wanted

Just a little recommendation, having used a 12v watermaker for 5 years producing 40l/hr, I converted it to engine driven.

Results: More than twice the water, superior membrane life. It also provided a resistive load to the engine which is great for diesels.

Re: Watermaker wanted

Thanks for the replies. Im definately after a 12v Paul. We have ample solar and prefer not use the engines at all.

Re: Watermaker wanted

I,ve had a 12v system now for over 10 years and find it great, yes the engine version does produce more water but if you have not room for the watermaker to be near the engine or pipes to be routed a long way then the 12v system is the one for you. There are times I've not run the engine for over a week with solar & wind providing power. Good luck!

Re: Watermaker wanted

thanks mate, not really after a small volume katadyn, Id really like 30-60l/h and prefer something around .5 amp/litre. Thanks for the heads up though

Re: Watermaker wanted

Not many watermakers can match 0.5 Ah/liter but Spectra and Schenker does.
