Crew Wanted: 17june sail NYC to Block I

17June sail to Block I (3 days max) from NYC. I'll take 2 people. I'll pay expenses on Resolve, J40. I'll be staying for Race Week but crew will be on own when we get to Block. (can go back home, ferry/train or get on another racer). Beginners will know how to sail when we get there.... Frank

NYC to Block Island is about 120 Nautical miles. If you plan to take 3 days, can I assume you don't plan any night sailing?

Never been to Block Island. How does the crew get back to the mainland?

As OP says: Take a ferry. Or the crew can swim. Once on Mainland, take a train back to NYC.

my daughter and I are interested. We will both be on Long Island (Montauk), so the logistics would be perfect, as we could ferry back home from BI. She will also be with me on LI at that time. We sailed together from the BVI to Montauk this year without incident and really enjoyed the passage. We can both plot charts, stand watch, splice rope, etc. The only catch (if you consider this a catch) is that she is only 11 years old. Eliot and all. I think I have found my crew from a note on this thread for the trip out. Anyway, when I get to Block I'll be racing on another boat. I encourage you to go without a berth. Over the years, if I didn't have a commitment, I've always gotten on great boats. There will be 100 boats each with 10 crew and many will have openings... go to Block (or any big race) and walk around or post a note at sign-in tent.... Frank
