Australia anywhere to anywhere

Hi!

My name is Andy and I am a 59 year old Aussie guy who is eager to get a crewing position on any yacht leaving Australia in Dec 2013to April 2014. I am particularly interested in anyone wanting to sail to French Polynesia or Australian coastal. Will share expenses

I am qualified in crewing and helming on keelboats .I am based in Tassie, but am able to travel anywhere to meet you for departure.

I am easy to get along with, friendly and can take a joke. I am a quick learner and not afraid of a little bad weather!

If you or anyone you know is planning a blue water passage, then please let me know! I'd be very keen even just to get some more sea miles before I take delivery of my new yacht. Thanks
Andy

Re: Australia anywhere to anywhere

I doubt you will find any vessels heading that way from Dec to April the cyclone season in that part of world.

Cheers.

Ditto, cyclone season.

Good time to do lap of Tassie though.

Andy.

I am not familiar with the Hanse 505 but....

Why not find people to help you sail your own boat wherever you want to go and be in charge of your own destiny.

That time of year you are best off down south or if you want to crew you would probably be better off in the Carib.

Lap of Tassie is pretty cool did it early this year especially Bathurst Harbour, just around the corner from Hobart.

Cheers
Anthony.

Just had a look at your boat specs... mate that boat looks like a cruising weapon.

Do you have the deep keel or shallow?

Hi Anthony, the Hanse 505 is on order and I will take delivery in Germany in April 2014. My current wooden 10mt 105 year old huon pine ride is not up to water sailing">blue water sailing these days.

Re: Australia anywhere to anywhere

Shallow keel is good choice I think.

You are going to have fun in that boat.

If you need crew when you get delivery send me a PM. I have plenty of experience, plenty of references etc.

Congratulations.

And I am sure you won't have much of a problem finding a crew position in the interim.

Have you tried registering on findacrew as a paid or free member? Plenty of opportunities there.

Re: Australia anywhere to anywhere

Hi, We are looking for crew or someone to sail a Pan Oceanic 40 which is currently moored at Montague Bay, Tasmania to Sydney. Please contact me if you are interested. There is no urgent time frame but we would love to get her up to Sydney. We now live in Canberra and its becoming increasing difficult to just head of to Tassie for sail and Sydney is our preferred location. So please get in touch if you are interested in this venture.

Re: Australia anywhere to anywhere

I just found your details on the cruising forum.

We are looking for an experienced crew to help a friend sail from Newcastle NSW to Adelaide SA.
The 12.5 M steel ketch is ready now in Newcastle.
The yacht has just sailed south from Bundaberg.
His assistant was an eager back packer and has to leave the country shortly,
He realised he had to see a few sights before this.

The skipper is very experienced and has a relaxed attitude.
He has completed 2 circumnavigations and very many other navigations

Please contact me back either way,I will give more details if interested.
Regards, Tom 0428892036
