All this talk of coffee - I think I'll go make my self a long black Sigri and accompany it with a side of Ardmore whisky.

I am not familiar with PNG's coffee estates (no idea where the last bag of beans I was given came from, but it was damn good). I am, however, familiar with single malts and your taste is to be admired .

Baabs, do you drink Scotch?

Baabs, see if your heart king would settle for trying some Glenmorangie. Less peaty. Goes beautifully with espresso and dark chocolate. My favourite drop .

Now you're talking Scotch! Glenmorangie. $40 a bottle here in Florida and worth every cent.

Thanks for the private note Baabs.......

Alas, I am not a drinker of the water of the Peat. The most tolerable for me is Canadian Club. In mentioning that drink I see Peat lovers everywhere curling up in disgust.

Strike one for a fledgling relationship........

Two to go...........

Well at least she hasn't turned her nose up at sugar roasted robusta. Surely that earns her at least one 'Get out of Jail' free card?

(Or was that used up when she voiced a preference for monohulls? )

Miss Baabs
I indeed did see the missive nestled in my private box. It thrilled me so much that had I been a young girl, or even a woman of mature years, it very well may have made me swoon from the multitude of emotions stirred up in my manly bosom.

It would be wrong to meet up so soon, well at least until the operative procedures I have undertaken begin to heal. I would not say I was ugly exactly, but when I was born the hospital put tinted windows on my incubator. When my mother dropped me off at school, she would be fined for littering. When I took up sailing, the tide would not bring me in.

So you understand my reluctance to rush things at this point as in a meeting. I hope you really do understand...

weavis the peat hater.

Weav, have your forgotten that love is blind?

PS I forgot to suggest that you really should consider adding Brownie points for Baabs' tolerance of frozen croissants and Ensaïmada from a packet as well as the sugar roasted robusta. These go a long way to outweighing a fondness for peat .

aah seaworthy maiden. There is much to teach you about the culinary arts and coffee. What is the point of inventing packets if food is not placed within them?

I continue to try not to smile as the surgical stitches continue to reline my features.......... an itch scratchy process at best.......one hopes it will be worth it......
All this for a monohull and a whiskey drinking French woman.......
