Re: Boat and Croissants

With the thread drift I'm wondering if some mod (me) should move this to the Food and Drink section, or the Lonely Hearts section.

Well in that case, we'll leave it here so we can all be educated.

Sorry weavis I ate to many donuts, and required a nap after my return.

Went 'wild' and got 4 Bavarian cream, 2 raspberry, 2 cherry, 2 lemon, and
2 Italian cream with chocolate sprinkles on top. After careful thought I doubled
the order. One dozen for you, another dozen for the new friends you will
make ;-)

Bon Appe'tit...

God I haven't had a good cream puff in so long I wondered if they were still made. The chain donut shops around me surely don't have them. ;-(

Re: Boat and Croissants

Last time I could find one was in a French bakery in Canada. like 30 years ago. I have tried others, but they were a disappointment, so I gave up trying until, I get to France.

Re: Boat and Croissants

Just to echo another american atrocity - The "Danish" sold in the US has nothing to do with real danish pastry, which by way, in Danish is called "Viennese bread"

Real Danish pastry is flaky like a good croissant (and includes at least as much butter LOL)

Hmmmm- think I walk down to the bakery and buy some

Re: Boat and Croissants

I'm sort of partial to bannock.

It's a Canadian thing.
