Re: Boat and Croissants

There's always " cultural atrocities " surrounding food. I grew up being fed " Madeira cake " which was made with brown sugar and lemon and a very pale brown colour. Imagine my surprise when actually in Madeira , the stuff was black and gooey and made with molasses. !!!

Re: Boat and Croissants

Does anyone have a crazy translator?
This isn't a French - English translation thing. This is straight up batshit.

Good luck wiggling your bait, Weavis!

Au contraire.....
Dialectically, it was never French. I never angled a dangle for a Frenchworthylass....... I much prefer the direct approach face to face.

Although I am partial to french sweets......

I was amused by the English thinking for the French phrasing...... example " mornin' "

A jolly good wheeze all round.......

On the European front......... those French air traffic controllers call off their strike from midnght tonight..... frigged up millions of dollars paid by holidaymakers who will never get their time or money back.. If it was still a strike at the weekend it would have cost me close to $35K in canceling a seminar....... so me and baabs would not be having a happy time over croissants.............

However, for the sake of entente cordiale....... Ill have a Guinness.

Re: Boat and Croissants

Weave, you need to think out of the box (no pun intended ).

First a YouTube of frozen croissants, now Ensaïmada from a packet .

Baabs is a French lass who had her teeth cut on sublime pastry and is bound to prefer something like this (for the perfect finish the dusting of icing sugar has first been rubbed in scraped vanilla bean seeds):

I think the pictorial representations on this thread depict my sense of disappointment, not to mention a departure from reality regarding the delights of Gruissan or French Cuisine.
The rapidly approaching weekend will find me in a local Mallorcan restaurant of superb order enjoying cuisine made from scratch.
I may even share camera worthy moments with you.........
or not.
