Brisbane to Bali - March '13

Hi, to anyone who has better than basic cruising experience and will join on a tour to Bali on a Simpson 45 catamaran. On a trip to Brisbane, just to see my son there, I was overcome by the urge to have a larger boat than my trusted
Wharram 30 in Bali.
My dear Balinese wife was not strong enough to stop me and I bought this well equipped Simpson 45. Ooops, almost forgot, I am not brave enough to bring it alone to Bali- and this is where you may come in.

Have to be able to run the show, when I am sleeping, just a few days when we might have to sail by night, and as important, you should know cooking reasonably well, which I don't.
In return, I am friendly and balanced company, pay for return or maybe an onward ticket of similar value and the tour can but does notmhave to be a rush job. Whatever.

Re: Brisbane to Bali - March '13

hi Heather and David,
sorry, late reply. Had some family emergency and also flew back from Brissie to Bali.
You sound like good, interesting and experienced people. Just what the doctor ordered
I had to change my schedule and will leave from Noosa on or around 20 April to end up 4 or 6 weeks later in Bali.
The boat has three double cabins which gives you privacy and I am, same as you, adaptive. Seems there is much to exchange from our lives.
I am German born Australian, having been living in the Carribean, Central America, 21 years Northern NSW , now 13 years Lombok and Bali.
Started as industrial economist, became Resort Developer, farm manager,
had my hobby farm and printing Company in Australia, built a Hotel in Lombok, ran a pearl farm and being 67, still enjoy looking right and left on our journey.
Fit and healthy, non smoker, drinking moderately, if at all.
My dear Balinese wife has no sea legs, but may join on some legs of the trip.

If you don't know much about Bali, - join us in our home near Ubud for some days after arrival. Lovely place, much to see and experience.
What say you?

Hi Ramon
Have you still space on your boat for a couple? I am not sailing with David anymore.
I am in a partnership with NZ Steve, shipwright and ex Olympic/Americas cup sailor.
In fiji at present,
Cheers
Heather

Re: Brisbane to Bali - March '13

Hi Heather,
thanks for writing. Well, I am in Bali now, the boat is in Bali as well and my son, a sailing savvy french backpacker and I had a ball of a time riding the trade winds.

As it goes, 90% good cruising, 8% wonderful impressions along the way and 2% horror.
It was all worth it, but for some time I will only do some island hopping. Therefore recruiting you good and now highly experienced people would be overkill.
Wishing you well and with
kind regards, - Ramon

Sounds awesome. I am a 19yr old with a basic Bareboat Cruising license. Looking to help aboard a sailboat for a few months.
Let me know if you need a skipper!
