Circumnavigation starting in SF early 2015

I'm currently planning a circumnavigation starting in SF in early 2015 with some friends. Currently we're 3 *commited* people total, but I'm trying to see how feasible it would be to get more like minded people interested in participating, get to know them, and try and get some more commitments. Perhaps instead of going in one boat, we could go in two boats!

We're all active sailors in the bay right now. We've narrowed down the boat search to a Jeanneau 39i or similar, although we're still researching and learning.

We're all financially stable and will be contributing our fair share to the expenses, we're in our mid/late 20's, college educated, work in the tech industry in sales/engineering.

This is a very well thought out plan already and I'm happy to share all the details with the right person. Feel free to contact me if you're interested!

Hi,

I'm definitely interested in the trip, I participated in a 6-month leg of a circumnavigation before and have thought about a trip very similar to what you're describing. I sent a pm about it. chrisfanshier@gmail

Re: Circumnavigation starting in SF early 2015

It's great to receive all these responses! To clarify though, we're looking for someone financially stable. We have friends that want to come but can't afford it, that's not what we're looking for. We're looking for someone who can contribute their fair share. We're estimated $8-10k for fuel/food/boat maintenance/moorings/touristy things etc., around $5k/year for the boat and if we do the world ARC, we would need to split the $25k entry fee.

We understand this will limit many people from participating, but that's the kind of trip we're looking to take. We're looking more for an adventurous 2 year leap year than a lifestyle. We all plan on returning to our regular lifestyles upon our return.

Hi
R u still looking for crew members? I would imagine so, 2015 is a long way off. My sailing details are on the 7knot.com site under rcole. I am definitely interested and have no problems with the current requirements. thanks

Here is the doc with the plan we have begun to outline. It's definitely scaleable. So maybe other people are interested in replicating it with their own crew/team: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing

You should read Glen DaMato's book "Breaking Seas"
