Well, maybe instead you should get a sense of humor? What is wrong with you, mate? Did you eat something today that made you so serious? Relax, mate - and remember, if there are smileys after text, there may be a good reason for that.

Yeah, it may mean that the writer can not express himself clearly in words, so resorts to an ill-defined symbol to add to the confusion. This act is often followed by cries of " you didn't understand what I meant" and sniveling.

as far as i can see most of the other posts verge on abuse if this was a job site.

Teenager are only good for one thing, two if they're in the infantry, so it they're not sex fiends, they're going about it all wrong or something's wrong with their wiring.

Re: clever, sweet girl from holland

what's the world coming to when a poor, sweet lass from Holland can not get a crew spot without boobies coming into question and quarrels among the boys?

Hm, tried to re-read my post, and could not find any "cries" or "sniveling". Some surprise, maybe, but cries? For that I would have to give a damn, and I don't. Probably I overestimated americans' capacity to understand non-american humor... Or maybe the fact that English is not my mother's tongue, has to do something with it. Sorry, would not try again (ill-defined symbol)

Good for you! But I was not talking about your post #2. OK, you enjoy your rightness, I was wrong assuming you understand more "indirect" humor. I promise to never try again, to keep you from getting unnecessary speachless about some imaginary stuff. (ill-defined symbol again)

apology accepted as i fully understand not every one has the same sense of humour,or language....hence cutting the op a bit of slack,i speak some dutch and immedietly identified the op as a non english speaker........and took her at face value.

lesson learned..... this is an international forum ...engage brain before engaging mouth...............there are a lot of nice people out there as well....try not to aleinate them in the first few replies....sailing anarchy is the site for abuse if that is the imput you have to give

Re: clever, sweet girl from holland

Gentlemen,

This has been an interesting and humerous thread. Is she real, yes she is. She responded to my posting for a circumnavigation crew. However, I did not get any "boobie" pics. She seems like an interesting woman via e-mail, but what she is looking for is the adventure, but she does not have any way to pay for the adventure.

As most of us know, if we really wanted to pay all of the costs of cruising, then most of us could put two hot women on our boats. When I choose crew, they will share the expense.

Yenneke, as I said, good luck with finding what you want. Remember, that the bait you put to sea will directly affect the catch. The bait you are trolling is nothing less than chumming for sharks.
