Crew Wanted Australian Far Northern East Coast

Giday all,

I am looking for crew members to help sail a 42ft aluminium
Catamaran.

JAN - APR 15 - Port Douglas south down the East Coast Australia

MAY - AUGUST - Townsville to Darwin and then onto Perth down the West coast.

Plan on 12 hour voyages with a few overnighters, allowing time to stop and take in the beautiful locations and nature in the area. Weather dependent .

This is not a paid position; all I can offer you is the experience of a life time. Cost to you will be approximately AU$20 per day.

Competent Crew qualifications preferred.

Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks

Jamesv

Re: Crew Wanted Australian Far Northern East Coast

Hello, I am very interested in joining you on your voyage from Townsville to Perth. It sounds exciting. It's not everyday you find someone cruising to Perth. I've got lot's of Blue Water experience, love to dive, explore new lands plus I come equipped with my own cookbooks. Please contact me at larrylangway (at) gmail (dot) com and I can send you a complete CV with my most recent sailing adventures, certifications and interests.
Being a Yank is not a problem; I already have my Australian Maritime Visa.

Re: Crew Wanted Australian Far Northern East Coast

Hi James
i have no Crew qualifications BUT
I am a 50 year old Aussie male . I sail a 17 ft fractional rigged sloop
.I am an aviator, so understand navigation,
have worked night shift so can keep watch .
I am looking to get sea miles under my belt as I wish to get a larger boat to sail the Pacific .
I am easy going and can get along with people .
I have been in 5 meter seas and have so far not been sea sick .
So I will see how that goes , some blue water . Samoa to Vanuatu with Del in Chiara Stella .
than port villa to the bay of islands New Zealand with Phil and Craig on the Different Drummer .
then Noumea ,new Caledonia to Brisbane Australia with Simmo on Levanter 3,400 nautical miles in total. south from Port Douglas is good for me

cheers

jimmy

Hi!, I see this is not a PAID position but rather a PAY position and your rates have now gone up to AU$30. I am curious to know a little bit more about the trip. Is is a delivery, do you have a schedule to keep, will there be other travelers on the boat, if so how many, and most importantly will I get my own cabin with bathroom?

Also, what does the AU$30 pay for exactly? I assume that includes food and booze, but does it also include gas money? I am a vegitarian. Well a vegan actually, I hope that okay. You don't grill meat on your barbecue do you? Shrimp is okay but I don't like fish.

Also, can you pick me up at the airport or send a car? Looking forward to joining you in living the dream life!

Matey, don't come the raw prawn here; of course there will be no shrimps on the barbie however I expect there will be a shipload of tigers and bananas (prawns that is). Except this coming Monday, that day is reversed for lamb - Aussie wide.

Re: Crew Wanted Australian Far Northern East Coast

Hi Jamesv
We are a couple very interested in your passage; Townsville-Darwin-Perth. We have a 34ft UFO Monohull which we day sail/short coastal trips in the South West of WA. I have completed a competent crew course and my husband has attained the RYA Coastal Skippers certificate and the International Certificate of Competency.
We have recently returned from a 4 month voyage on board a 45ft Catamaran; Balearics-East Coast of Spain-Canary Islands-Atlantic Crossing-St Lucia.
Let us know if you still require crew, thanks

NO! Reversing the lamb is more of a Kiwi tradition.
