Re: Florida Crew/Owners Wanted!

So the OP just private message me saying I was a troll and to post a photo of my boat. I spent six years on this boat as a mate/engineer. It was a custom Baltic 76. Could never imagine having 10 people on it for more than a week.

Re: Florida Crew/Owners Wanted!

My comment was not meant as a dig and in no way was it bragging. I was trying to show that 1. I cruse long term and therefor have first hand knowledge of what it takes and what goes into it, and 2. I am very familiar with boats in the 40-50' range (as I live on a 41) and how much they can hold and carry in terms of gear, food, water, etc, and I have even sailed offshore on a Swan and have had to pack it with stores for a crew of 8 for a six day crossing. Why all of the hostility?

This is his reply to me...

"Say want you want. Should I post photos of my eight years cruising the South Pacific? Or how about me winning the Double handed Transatlantic Race on a trimaran in 94? Maybe holding three major offshore race records at the same time? 100k miles under the keel and punks like you are a dime a dozen. PS Miami boatyards suck"

Trans Atlantic double handed 1994 results....

" 1994 eighteen yachts went to the line, but nine did not finish. The fleet was led home by Laurent Bourgnon and Cam Lewis in the 60 foot Trimaran Primagaz in a time of 9 days 08 hours and 58 minutes for a new race and multihull race record. Cherbourg Technologies skippered by Halvard Mabrine and Christine Guillou came 4th in a time of 15 days 00 hours and 31 minutes for the monohull race record."

Congrats on your win in 1994 Cam Lewis!

Congrats on your win in 1994 Cam Lewis!
I will refrain from posting his private replies which lead me to call him a punk as there may be children reading. I am not Cam Lewis. I won Class IV. First boat in after the Class I boys.

I wish you luck on your voyage. Since you are having 10 people on a Swan 44 do the four people who have to sleep on deck get to pay less than the others to sail you around the world?

Re: Florida Crew/Owners Wanted!

So as promised here is the details of the group.

But first: This is a forward thinking idea.
Dont let the nay say' ruin a unique
opportunity for you, if you always dreamed
of owning a boat/travling..

Just avoid this thread, and email me direct with any questions.

Also, the trolls won't read this!!! But this is preliminary..
After 9 people get on board, everything is open for
For change

So

It's based on 10 owners:

2k a month per person, one year, then the boat leaves.

Gets us all!
1/10 ownership
The boat paid in full
Boat on a slip in Miami, South Beach area!
A large open studio loft in Miami
50k in improvements to boat..
And 50k in the travel fund!

So, we all share the living in the large studio/boat.
So 2k includes your rent!

In the next year, the boat gets worked on...
We do all work...10 people, working fulltime when we have days off, working on boat...

The boat details to come. Boat is not a basket case!
I say 50k..in updates, I believe it more like 25k..
So I over budgeted

So after 1 year hard work, the boat leaves for wherever we plan too go!

Allot of trolls said you can't put 10 on it...
They are right, if you think like a privlaved yacht club biff..

This is an adventure cruise..REMOTE exploration
Let me give you an idea of places and things I would like to do..

Explore the interior of Paupa New Guinea
Dive Indonesia for a month+
Explore the Salomons
That gives you a idea...this trip is not for Biffs!

So, real travlers/ exploreers I say...

Anyone should be able to clear 2k a month...
Which nets everyone the goal! Simple math

I will not go into the ideas I have to make money underway. There is a hint in my skills post..

So ignore the trolls...if you have this travel bug'
Don't let their insecurity sway your dream...
They are to lazy, anythng but lose is odd to them..

I have more info. For serious inquires
Via email...

At this point any other post....is a troll...
Minus mine...

Because if your serious , you will be smart enough to email me direct....

Re: Florida Crew/Owners Wanted!

I am a red seal chef, own a construction company, ispa certified skipper, own my own sailboat. I think I qualify for several of your criteria.
However, you have not listed any of your qualifications. What is your sailing background, work history, ect.
Obviously anyone interested will want to feel confident in the abilities of all others involved.

Re: Florida Crew/Owners Wanted!

So we work on a boat for a year in Miami then we get to sleep on deck to go to the South Pacific? New Guinea, done that. Solomon's, done that. 20k a month into a cruising kitty on a boat way too small for ten people. This is a scam people. Don't let his thread go on. Ignore the real troll who is trying to get you to pay for his cruise. Let it die.

Re: Florida Crew/Owners Wanted!

Sigh. Why don't you google Greenwich Propane which is the boat we won the Double Handed Transatlantic Race on. Cam Lewis won Class I with Laurent Borgeon and we won Class IV. Finished before all of the class II and III boats. It's just a Google search away scammer.
