Tres dangereux pour vous, pour y voyager comme ca de l'Afrique du Sud au Caraibe avec des gens que tu ne connaisses pas! Mauritz

Re: French lady looking for a ride.

I wouldn't say it is very dangerous, just not without some risk (but so is much else in life) - a few threads around that touch on keeping self safe when getting onboard strange boats with strange people......in any event, for OP's intended voyage IMO the bigger risk is the boat and the Skipper's competancy rather than anything else.

Anyway, have a free thread bump!

Cape town to Caribbean is far too dangerous Start off with Bundaberg to Townsville and go from there!!!

Not dangerous at all. How do you think all the SA cats in the Caribbean got there? Its done all the time and I know three skippers who are at sea on this very trip as I write. Tony

Only a guess, but I suspect SeaWings is Australian based and currently in Bundaberg and planning a trip to Townsville .

Yep - you're probably right, David. It might have helped if he'd put one of those thingies indicating "Tongue-in-Cheek" somewhere

Camila... Go down to Elliott Basin ( About Elliot Basin ) in Cape Town. The Tui Marine office there is where all the crews are organised for taking the Moorings/Sunsail Leopard cats from South Africa to the Caribbean. There are boats leaving pretty much every week. You'll get aboard there for sure.

Camila's last time on CF (and first visit to CF) was two minutes she first posted; we wait to see how helpful we have been to her first post .

Welcome aboard by the way .

Re: French lady looking for a ride.

Elliot Basin closed for yachts last year. Now All Leopards leave from RCYC (that wall by the police station) or Waterfront. Most crews meet at RCYC.
