Indonesia to new zealand jan/feb 2013, couple

I am a 32 year old materials engineer and my girlfriend who is 31 is an NGO manager (we are both french). We took a year off to travel. After seven months travelling from Russia to Cambodia, we are now in Indonesia and there is no train to go to new zealand .

We are happy to adjust our journey to different ports of departure and work our guts out just for a spot on board. Ideally we would love to arrive in south New Zealand at cairns however we are not closed to other options of arrival port.

We have not travelled long distance by boat before and know not a lot about sailing - but are certainly willing to learn!
We are both very open minded worldly people who love new experiences and challenges. We can do any kind of job.

Would love to hear from anyone.
Cheers
Julien

Julien

Jan/Feb is in the cyclone season between Indonesia and New Zealand.

I don't think there is a Cairns in New Zealand
Cheers

Cairns is in Queensland, Australia and as Tony said it is the middle of the cyclone season. There is currently a cyclone watch in the Gulf of Carpenteria and possibly on could fomn off Qld coast this coming week.

Trip definitly not on at this time of the year.

cheers

It doesn't sound good for us.
Nevertheless, thanks for your advice
