Mature Long Term Crew Wanted

Sandman9 is on a 35ft sloop in Tahiti for the hurricane season. Seeks a mature (40+) crew with a view to New Zealand, Australia, Christmas Island, Maldives, Madagascar, South Africa, Rio, Panama, Los Angeles. Some experience essential. Either sex OK provided otherwise suitable. Will be required to contribute to costs. Sandman is a retired Sociologist of British extraction. On a voyage of this nature compatability is essential. Applicants will be carefully screened.

A little more info about the boat and yourself would probably get you some hits.

I am interested. I'm 42 and have been sailing since I was 15. I most recently obtained my USCG Captains License (six pack) and am looking to accumulate more hours for my 50Ton. I have done a few blue water deliveries up and down the Pacific West Coast including Baja California up through the Sea of Cortez. I'm hooked on the open sea and eager to get back out there to enjoy the cruisers paradise. If you are interested, you can email me at aburgin20@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Re: Mature Long Term Crew Wanted

When are you looking at leaving Tahiti? I am a reasonably fit 64 yrs ex Army and Police Service, with reasonably extensive experience in solo and crewed sailing. Non smoker. Non drinker. Have sailed internationally. Am retired and can go whenever. Interests are primarily out on the water, photography and writing (blog and photo-journals these days). Happy to contribute to costs and get myself to Tahiti or wherever and back home.

Hello Sandman9,

Just finished a 27-day trans-Atlantic delivery and am looking for my next sailing trip. My hope is to sail RTW. Started my adventure last May in Turkey. Currently in the Grenada. I've been here multiple times already. But have never been to the Pacific.

Was thinking to skip the Caribbean and the long passage across the eastern Pacific and get right to those interesting Islands.

I'm very flexible regarding time and places. Retired a year ago. Looking for long-term liveaboard. A captain with a background in the humanities is a plus.

Looking forward to your response,

Richard D'Addario

Re: Mature Long Term Crew Wanted

Hi. I live in Cape Town, South Africa, and yearn for a sailing adventure. I'm 47, female, petite so don't take up too much space! I have some sailing experience and love it, so willing to get a deckhand certificate to help. I have no encumbrances so time would not matter. My passion on land is riding motorcycles, but want to "broaden my horizons". I've ridden all the roads! Would u be willing to pick up a passenger on your way past Cape Town for the rest of the trip? That would give me time to get more experience too. When do u plan to start the journey and what would be your eta in South Africa?

Thanks, Meryl
