In most forums issues such as boat type/length and the sailing experience of the "captain" would have been upfront and to the advantage of the OP. IMHO
Very much agree. If not upfront and has to be teased out suggests perhaps issues that will surface later. Very legitimate concerns of any lady applying.

Obviously mature, I agree; and she wouldn't be checking out the underside of that car if she was not mechanically inclined, now would she? And with inbuilt flotation devices like that I wouldn't need to spring for a six-man liferaft! I'll take her as crew anytime.

Re: Mature Woman Sought

Knock it off guys, this poor sailor started the thread to find a certain crew member.

Now you have hijacked it and got it bent out of shape with sillyness.
Im sure it was a genuine and serious proposal.

Im trying to keep a straight face so dont make me laugh ok.

Zeehag - and the rest - Why do I get the feeling that my thread has been hijacked?
There are points that I could pick up on, but I'll resist the temptation!
Can't a guy advertise for a companion without starting a "free-for-all! Free-for all's are fun - but they don't bring in crews!
(Back in the 3rd world we called them 'Bulldust Sessions').
Isn't there even ONE person out there?
Zeehag, how about bringing that Formosa of yours to Tahiti? I here tell that there are canibals out there!

I think it's called hatred of the opposite sex. Perhaps some underlying issues of their past. My advise is... you will attract your lifestyle where you cruise to. There are more than enough sailing hitch-hikers getting on and off boats in various ports. Good luck and fair winds

Re: Mature Woman Sought

I'm not sure when you posted this, having just joined this forum. I have done some sailing on various boats, own and sail my venerable 30-ft boat on the Chesapeake Bay and I guess I'm mature. I have sailed as crew in the Aeolians and in the Caribbean. Did a little charter work as crew on the Chesapeake.
