Crew Available: Newbies Wanting to Crew

Cathyand Bill here. We are semi-retired, and after taking a sailing class, reading a lot, we are looking crew in Florida to get some experience before we take the final plunge. Any suggestions would be helpful

Did you read my post seeking crew for Gulf of Mexico, Keys, Bahamas? I am seeking crew because my wife cannot accompany me this year. Your questions: Drink, but not drunk. No to drugs and smoking.

Not looking for day sails because there are few places to go and back in a day. Enjoy Keys - Marathon, Bahai Honda, Key West, and the Dry Tortugas.

Nope, we just to get some experience on a sailboat before we get too involved with the money and time that saiboats require.

Our posts dont talk about drugs or drinking. Not sure how that even came up. But anyways, thanks for the reply. We are looking to get some experience crewing near to home on day sailing trips.

I think both posters above were trying to find out our personal preferences in respect of the consumption of drugs of all sorts, due to the close quarters situation on sailboats, most people declare whether theyre smokers etc just as they would on a dating site so as to eliminate a common source of tension.

I am sorry if my question bothered you but the more info you offer about yourself will better your chances in finding people to sail with.

Like what was stated above on a boat you do not have alot of room and after a few days together if you do not have the same habits I guess I will call it then the trip could be very hard.
