Novice Crewman - W.Coast - Long-term

I've been in and around sailboats quite a bit, but not recently. I would basically be unskilled crew, but I'm sure to pick it up fairly quickly... I live in Anchorage, AK but could easily travel to anywhere on the West Coast to crew. I'm more interested in longer cruises than short ones.

About me, I'm a 27 year old man with a home in the great state of Alaska. I've got my whole life fairly stable, and I'm at a point where I could take a significant amount of time off of work without any problems. My family lived on a sailboat on the East Coast for a couple of years when I was younger and I loved every minute of it. I've lived in Alaska for a few years now though, and I'd like a chance to travel somewhere warmer that has sand beaches, sun, and all that good stuff. I'm definitely a romantic with dreams, but I'm not a flake who thinks that everything is easy and sailing off into the sunset is going to cure everything. Just most things!

Hi Anchorageguy and welcome to Cruisers Forum. I have a brother finishing school in Alaska.

Good luck on your quest to find a crew spot and a warmer place (that's an understandable desire!)

Thanks! I'm hoping something comes up before it starts getting toooo cold. Your brother either really wanted to get away from everything or he's an engineering student, right?
