CaptKJ has it right. Never forget a snorkling charter out of St John's. Captain passed too close to coral outcrpping on a broad reach, ran aground really hard. Stopped dead in water from 6 kts. Because it is was blowing 10-15 kts, we heeled over further and became unstuck. Me, I'm a novice sailor, but I knew we were too close. Captain never flinched, never went below to check for leaks, just pretended it never happened. When we got to snorkling site, I dived the keel to reassure myself everything was ok. It was, Captain never admitted the incident happened.

He may hit the exact same spot every day. ....OK go until we hit the reef then take a left.
