In preparation for charter season, I will be moving catamarans up from Rio Dulce to Belize City starting end of October. Maybe a run to/from Roatan also.

If you are in the area and want to come along as unpaid crew then let me know.

Might be handy for anyone who needs to renew their visa.

First boat on the list is a Voyage 50.

Re: Rio Dulce to Belize City

If I may, what is the plan, is this one cat after the other, or as a group, and can you comment on duration (at least a guess). I'm self sufficient (expense wise) and have skippered my own Endeavor 36 in past years, but need to refresh my hours. Also have some Spanish and reasonable schedule flexibility (self employed), non smoker and don't mind the "wee hours" watch (have worked shifts). Also, computer & ICS, electrical & electronics engineer by trade and responsible, of course.

The run from the Rio to Belize City is only about 100nm. I usually break it up into two days with a stop in Placencia. Easy run, but wont do much for building your hours though.

One boat on the schedule at the moment to be in Belize City on or before Nov 4, and a couple more tenatively. Boats are wrapping up off season maintenance so schedules won't likely sync up to move a group, probably one at a time. Not uncommon to run back and forth and move a few boats this time of year.

So, mostly day time watch keeping and helping run the boat. One tentative run to Roatan would be the only potential overnight run unless the schedule gets tight.

Boats and schedules of course dont mix well so flexibility is essential...these "plans" are subject to change at any moment.

We will be in Belize City in Nov. Any specific requirements and schedule?

Re schedule, see previous post. The runs I'm planning to make should be done between late Oct and first week in Nov.

Easy run, no experience requirements, just thought others might like to come along or make a visa run. I've made this run dozens of times, quite a few single handed, so no real asistance needed, but it is sometimes useful to have another set of eyes and hands aboard.

I've received a number of PMs from folks looking for work. Sorry, but there is no job offer expressed or implied in this post. Please do not PM me looking for work.

Lot more responses, on and off line, than I expected...trip is full.
