Townsville to Darwin to Perth Australia

Giday all,

I am looking for crew members to help sail a 42ft aluminium Catamaran.

Townsville to Darwin and then onto Perth down the West coast.

Departing approximately mid-March / April 2014 and will plan on 12 hour voyages with a few overnighters, allowing time to stop and take in the beautiful nature in the area. Weather dependent of cause.

This is not a paid position; all I can offer you is the experience of a life time.

The trip will be broken down into monthly segments;
Townsville – Darwin 1 month Mar / April,
Darwin - Port Headland 1 month April / May,
Port Headland – Perth 1 month May / June.

Let me know what part you would like to do, or all the hole trip.

Thanks

Jamesv

March/April. Do you have concern for cyclone. Still lots of weather in those parts at that time?

Yes, we will not be leaving until the season has changed South easterlies are a good indicator and it will allow sailing North instead of motoring.

Hi James
your trip sounds awesome and i would be interested I helping you out. I'm a novice sailor, but have just complete comp crew certificate and am looking at gaining as much experience as possible. I work as an environmental engineer and am currently working on an project in western QLD, but am finishing up in the next few months to fulfill some travel aspirations and reckon a trip like yours would be a great way to kick things off.

I'm a good cute and practical so can help out with maintenance where required.

You can get me at samworrall(at) gmail (dot) com
Or via a pm

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers Sam

Re: Townsville to Darwin to Perth Australia

Jamsv,

The trip sounds amazing. I would be interested in discussing more with you. Around that time I will be taking a break from my current job of running 4x4 adventure tours on Fraser Island and looking to get back on the seas. In 2012 I sailed from the Canary Islands all the way to Sydney via the Panama Canal and am itching to get back on the ocean. Also my parents are in Darwin so would be a nice way to visit sailing into the harbour for a catch up. You can get me on troywalton66 at yahoo dot com dot au or just PM me.

Cheers

Troy

Re: Townsville to Darwin to Perth Australia

Hi David,

I would be keen to join your journey. I live in Sydney and would be available to sail for up to a couple weeks and can come fly out to meet you near the end of March.

I've raced Adams 10s in Middle Harbour the past three years. I've rented numerous yachts in Sydney and sailed Greece and Sicily on 34 and 46ft yachts with only my ex-partner and I.

I'm an easy going 36yo, funny (if I do say so myself) professional who's highly motivated to get more miles under my belt. I'm also a pretty solid chef

Please feel free to call me to discuss if it sound like I'd be a good match for the journey. Cheers! Cathy:+61 411377186

Hi James
early days but looks like you will have no problems finding crew but I would like to throw my hat in the ring male 57yo recently retired, fit and lots of offshore sailing behind me and a very low maintenance kinda guy with a GSOH (we all say that ).
Any time of the year would be ok for me.
Thanks
Paul
