Why not simplify it, and buy a boat in California, or Mexico?

you are looking for captain and crew?

your response was ?why not save the trouble and buy in California."
That is true if coming through Panama right now.

Please explain your interest in a captain and crew as we are in between deliveries right now. if you have future plans please contact us to discuss your proposed delivery schedule.

Thank You

funny you say that. i did simplify and buy a boat in california. im now living on, and working on a Palmer Johnson Bounty II in San Diego, to get it ready for SD- Hawaii, sometime in July. My crew situation is up in the air, so if anyone is interested in helping crew, feel free to PM me or email me. I also have a website up, for anyone that might be interested in checking it out.

Welcome to the Open Blue Horizon

again, the operative word in my post is "helping" crew. that means that you will need to pay for your own transportation to/ from. I will not pay you when we are done. when we drink in ports, you pay for your own drinks. I'm only providing a spot on my boat, and the possible summer trip of a lifetime for someone.

thanks for everyone's interest,
ronnie

Ah to be 22 again.
I read a bit of your website about your service and wounding in Iraq. I live in S. Florida and as much as I wish I were 22 again and knew what I know now I'd go with you in a flash. But my plans are already made. But if there is anything I can help you with when while you are here it would be my honor to help you in anyway I can. Thank you again for your great service to our country.

thanks to everyone who checked out my site, and has offered to help.

again, my plans have changed from what they were originally, and i ended up buying a boat in southern california, and i am not going to go to ft. lauderdale. i am in san diego. harbor island/ point loma area if youre familiar. also, thank you to everyone for their kind words and encouragement.

back on topic, i think i am going to have my neighbor, who is 55 with a captain's license and a 41 foot Gulfstar, help crew to Hawaii with me, as well as a 25 year old guy from the yacht club. I am very possibly still going to be looking for one more person to help crew the yacht from San Diego to Hawaii in July. I am 23 and not made of money, so I can not pay anyone's way, or buy you a ticket back to California. I can only offer a spot on the boat, and the hope of having the adventure of a lifetime, with no financial help at all. Sorry to confuse everyone with my premature May/ Florida post.

3 people is plenty, and the trip not that long. Besides if your shift is more often then you will learn more. By the time you get to Hawaii you will know plenty. Also think of the space, and the amount of food, and water needed for a 4th person.....
