440 Flybridge

Hi All,
I read a lot about the fly-bridge on my 440 and in bad weather it would be uncomfortable, true, my decision to buy a 440 included a saloon steering station, I have sailed my boat from Singapore to Darwin and with only 4 stops for fuel, at night or in windy conditions I would drive my boat from the saloon, 12'' chart plotter with chart/radar and a look outside every 10 - 15 minutes at night, we never hit anything, I was so impressed with the 440 I am now buying a 500 so I can play tennis on the deck !!! (nearly )

The boat that suits your lifestyle is always the best boat no matter what anyone says.

A Lagoon 500 will be a sweet ride for sure.

Re: 440 Flybridge

the design could definitely be improved......by having a beer fridge and intercom up there for sandwich service from downstairs.............also wing mirrors so you can see the dock properly when reversing......... oh! and softer seats and a proper backrest!

Re: 440 Flybridge

I stomp 3 times and a beer gets passed through the hatch behind my ankles, works great.
5 stomps gets me nachos.

Re: 440 Flybridge

Agreed with your description.

I absolutely love the Lagoon 440 flybridge, from docking to normal daily uses. Often, the whole crew up joined on the Flybridge when cruising. Going in shallow water, it is the best place to see things. Even at night coming to port, it is so much easier to see the entrance buoys. I owned a mono as well and I can't see
how someone sailed a 440 would want to go back to a mono or a cat without flybridge. I believe the guys who badmouthed the flybridge cat probably never really knew what it like and what they've missed. One thing is certain that only the high-end cat had flybridge so that also said something about the flybridge.

Re: 440 Flybridge

You will love the 500, it is also a quicker boat than the majority of mid 40 footers due to its waterline length. Space wise not much in it compared to a 450. Saloon is bigger, rear cockpit and helm layout not as user friendly. Just saw this is a pretty old thread.
