Any UK based Lagoon 380/410?

Hi all

The wife and I would dearly love to get a sense of the internal space on one or both of these boats - does anyone have one here in the UK that we could spend 10 mins having a quick look around?

We're based on the South Devon coast.

many thanks.

Dom

Not exactly responsive to your post (we are in San Diego and own neither), but:

Have chartered both boats. Both are very spacious for their length. However, the 410 just seems to be the gem of this duo. The 380 felt much smaller than only three feet shy of the 410. Not to say that the 380 felt bad (it was great), just to say that the 410 felt like a different size class. We were in the market for a Lagoon when the 380 was released, and we remember the salesman telling us that the 380 was a 410 with a foot or so cut off of the bow and the stern. Not our impression! However, the 380 can be picked up for a 30-50k discount over a comparable 410. If you are going to bay/coastal sail with just a couple or a couple plus occasionals, the 380 would be awesome. If you have visions of offshore, then, honestly, there are better choices than either the 380 or 410 (the biggest offshore issue on the 380/410 is bridgedeck slamming). This problem was largely corrected on the 440/450 via a "v-shaped" entry on the bridgedeck. Sorry, sort of off-topic, but I figured that you would appreciate the info.

That's a helpful insight - many thanks! Anyone in the UK with either of these boats nearby?

There is a 380 in a charter company that runs out of Brighton Marina. I persuaded the skipper to allow me to look around.

I really dislike their engine hatch placement and vulnerability.

Re: Any UK based Lagoon 380/410?

Hi Dom
I have recently seen your posts and hope you are making progress!
In fact, we are a family of 5 (6, 10, 12) on exactly the same journey as you and have also narrowed our field down to Lagoon and FP cats. We are currently based on Christmas Island off NW Australia and hope to set sail in December in the Caribbean with the intention of crossing the Pacific Apr-Sept 2013. My plan is to fly to Martinique in July with the aim of buying, pending the sale of our house which is on the market now!
Seems we have both been grappling with the same issues, and come to similar conclusions...
Good luck
