Re: Bilge Alarms

I installed a Pit Boss sump pump alarm on my cat with the sensors just above the bilge switches for when we are not on board. It sends me a text message when the power goes off and when its restored, also if the water should get to the level of the sensor. The unit is battery backup and also beeps if your are on board to hear it.

We have decided to scrap both of them and are looking for a replacement... we liked the feature on the Johnson pumps that delays the pump for 8 secs to accommodate sloshing in the bilge...

Would you know the hose diameter off the top of your head?
I'm just getting our boat and will swap out the crappy rule pumps before we even start and keep them as spares.

Did you use new switches or wire something to them?
Thx!

Re: Bilge Alarms

We have an alarm mounted higher than the main bilge pump float. The alarm is connected to a Volkswagon horn and impossible to ignore anywhere on the boat, even in the cockpit or the bow with the engine running. We also have a second bilge pump with built in sensor mounted higher than either the primary bilge pump or the high water alarm.
