440: Davit Capacity Lagoon 440

Hey folks.

About to sign on the dotted line for a 2007 Lagoon 440.... man I cant believe I am about to own one... so freakin happy!

Any hoot. She comes with a lot but alas no tender. Fortunately for me my partner has embraced her masculine side and agreed big fast and flashy is best. (yes she is drunk so I am striking while the iron is hot!)

So my question is.... I belive the davits are standard. Can any one plug me in to what is a realistic load. We are looking at the AB 13 foot centre console with a 20hp. It comes in at about 200kgs.

All discussion aside about do we really want 200kg hanging off the back and the affects of it hanging in a swell...

Is this reasonable? I understand that one davit takes more of the load than another etc etc.

Any help or suggestions is well appreciated. BTW highly aware of tenders being stolen in the caribebbean as well. We have a sure fire way to solve that... its called a sniper rifle. (that was a joke)

Mine has a sticker with a warning no more than 200kg. We have a 3 metre RIB, centre console with 20HP 4 Stroke Honda. I wouldn't want any bigger.

Crossing Atlantic we may ship it ahead...

Is that 200kg pr, davit as a total of 400kg maxs ?
on my 380 it is saying
130kg mass on pr. Davit, but also 150 kg total rib .
we have a 310 rib with 10hp Honda. and this is from factory.
i dont think you have any problems with your 3m rib + 20 hp. to cross the atlantic,
We sail the North sea, and have a lot of weather. and the boat on tha back sift/hangs well.

The sticker is at the base of each davit, i would think it means 200kg per davit BUT giving a safe working load of 200kg total.
At some time someone will hop in the dinghy to pull a bung or it will fill with rainwater so i think having the 200kg margin is good.......

Ok you'd get some swell up there for sure...

Hey guys thanks for all that. Buying the tender in the Caribbean so no issue with it banging away. Now I just have to get my hands on one. BTW... the admiral sobered up somewhat, I think I am going to have to get a 3.1 open.... ah well good thing we are heading for the rum capital of the world I say!
