De-masting for transport

I am considering purchasing a 380. I am wondering if and what the process is assuming it is possible to remove the mast for transport. What considerations do I need to consider. Thanks one and all for any replies.

Re: De-masting for transport

If you're shipping the vessel the transport company will ship the mast as well with the boat.

The mast will be longer than the boat. The move will be a long and / wide load so will need permitting through most states.

We employed a rigger to unstep our mast. He wrapped it in foam and shrink wrap and worked with the crane rigger to load and unload the mast.

My wife and I focussed on clearing the decks and stowing everything below.

There is way too much work to do it all yourself. We have a 46' Liberty 458 fully kitted out for long term cruising. We had the truck moving in less than three days.
