No I believe the 37 is a shortened 42 albeit a well though out scaled down 42 not just a chopped down one.
What I was talking about is that there seems to be some boats that just get pontoon extensions and hey presto you have a bigger boat design which really has no more room then the original design.

I have a 1994 model Lagoon 37 bought out of charter from moorings in 1999, she was termed a Moorings 3700. She was built by Jeanneau in France. The surveyor was also familiar with the TPI boats, and knew of no differences. There is an ID no impressed on the inside of the starboard hull aft by the manufacturer, but it does not conform to the format of the US HIN number, and I do not know what the numbers represent.

gchester,

In looking at the original Jeanneau Lagoon 37 brochure and the Moorings 3700 brochure (called a "customized Jeanneau Lagoon 37" by the Moorings), the only big difference I could find was in sail area. The Moorings 3700 carried 85 sq.ft. less than the Lagoon 37; not surprising since it was in charter.

Question Re: Lagoon 37 - TPI vs French-Built?

Hey guys.. We are new to the forum and have recently purchased a Lagoon 3700 moorings model built in France circa 1994... Our big problem at the moment is the prop nut has backed off the shaft and we lost the nut hardware along with the prop... We have been able to replace the prop but are hitting brick walls with replacing the crazy shaft nut system... It is a M16x1.5 fine thread shaft nut with a zinc attachment at the tip... Anyone with any type of info on a source for a replacement nut for this model out there? Thanks so much in advance..
