Of course they don't like venturing far away from easy targets(money)

So If you like to anchor awy from the crowd and don't draw attention to yourself you should be OK

But then again...................................QLD Cop's

[quote=Therapy;102470]Australia has just been crossed off my list.

I am not sure what is so difficult to understand if you actually read what you wrote and my two posts but you go right ahead and ignore me.

That will also be your loss.

We will continue to bask in the joys of living in Australia.

So if you're parked and drunk in an RV will you get hauled off as well? Frankly, I think that's a pretty stupid policy.

I certainly won't cross Australia off my list (in fact, it's pretty much top of my list at this point), but its reputation is tarnished in my eyes with police like that.

Read in isolation it may seem draconian but the actual occasions on which it happens are few and far between I would suggest.

I bet there are similar regulations all over the world.

Northern Cat is just trying to keep you all away from our fair shores.

You have Bush, that tarnishes the US in the eyes of most of the world. We will however still come to visit you.

Given how lockstep Howard is with Bush I don't really see how you could get on a high horse about the US President. As far as that being the regulation all over the world, it's certainly not where I live.

Party on!

Let's not get into it! OK?

Big no-no, even back in 1982 when doing my apprenticeship we had a launching party piss-up and the cops got a couple of the guys for sleeping in their cars as they are in charge of a vehicle while under the influence.

Same on a boat, there is no gaurantee that you'll not need to shift during the night, therefore you will be in charge of a vehicle while under the influence.

Anyway, back to the Lagoon thread

I spoke with a group chartering Horizon's 420 in Oct. They had a skipper onboard. He said the boat would only motor at 4 knots and dropped to 3 knots going into a headwind. He said this was normal for the 420. Is there something wrong with this boat or is this an honest max. I seem to recall that in one test report the boat motored at 6 knots under one engine. He also reported the last charter used 160 gallons of fuel in one week. This is more then a powercat would use. I still think that it needs two gensets. A small house genset for AC overnight and a second larger genset for propulsion. I spoke with another gentlemen who mentioned Lagoon's next electric boat might be a hybrid along the lines of the Moorings E cat. Anyone heard anything about that?

You're making the assumption the skipper you're talking to is a reliable source.

pirate Hi Steve

I have not seen this thread pop up in a while, thought I'd say hi to everyone. I was the first charter of the Martha R. We burned 50 gallons in 5 days without A/C. We had the same speed issues under power and not much better under sail. I was looking for a January BVI charter and noticed the 420's are chartering well. I checked TMM and CatCo, both pretty booked for January. The owners of the 420 emailed me 6 months after my charter to ask some questions, thought that was a little odd. Steve, how are you and Dignity doing? Hope to meet up with you again in da ilons, first Carib is on me!!!!
