450: Lagoon 450 Onan 13.5kw anode replacement

Anyone know the secret to replacing the anode to standard factory installed Onan 13.5KW gen on a Lagoon 450 ‘17 in a cocoon.

Anode Part is on starboard side of generator facing owners cabin head and inaccessible even with sides of cocoon removed. Simply can’t see a way to get around the corner to replace the anode bolt?

Go to the Lagoon owners Facebook page. There is a heap of info and photos on how to go about this. Some skinny long armed people can fit in the compartment to do the job by feel, but the usual way is to take down the cabinetry in the master bathroom. Take off the cupboard doors, then remove the shelving, there are about 20 stainless wood screws, very easy with a driver drill with a right angle attachment. The shelf frame slides out and behind that is an access panel to the generator. I can do it in about half and hour, but the first time took about 2 hours, (there is always one screw you don't see that stops it coming out). The anode change is every 500+ hrs, but may last longer, so we did this every 6 - 8 months living aboard full time. This is also the time to check the V belt, you can also access the coolant drain, and other service items eg check the ground strap has not corroded through. This was on a 2011 L450, I think it is the same for following years.
