Lagoon older vs newer

Looking at the Lagoon 41-421 models, I'm seeing what appears to be a continuing progression of features, performance, and capabilities.

There is also a clear progression of price, partly due to age, and partly due to improved capability.

But are there exceptions? For example, are there any real advantages (for cruising) of a 41, or 410 over an R2? Does the R2 have any great advantages over the 420 or 421?

How extreme is the difference between the 420's and 421's. Is there any reason someone would prefer to buy a 420, besides age and price?

Basically, I guess this question is about finding the values in this lineup. Was there a place where lagoon went backwards, and maybe there is a noticeable value in buying an earlier model than a later model?
