Mainsail attachment to cars on mast

Hello,
I am a new owner of a 2012 lagoon 450. Some of the cars on the mast where the mainsail is attached are broken or missing the device to attach the mainsail. All the cars receiving the battens are intact and I am able to connect the battens as intended. The previous owner had left loops of elastic cord on the cars with the missing device (see picture attached). I don’t think, however, that attaching the mainsail to those will result in proper trimming of the sail.
Has anyone experienced this and if so how did they remedy it?
Thanks

Is that the track end cap and bottom car? Looks like it. The cars w/ out studs might be intermediate cars. Whether anything’s missing would depend on the attachment point on the sail. I have 2 intermediates, lashed. Not a 450 tho.

That’s the correct setup. Only the cars supporting the battens have the metal piece. For the intermediate cars they should be lashed with either webbing or shock cord exactly like your photo.

Re: Mainsail attachment to cars on mast

I had also questions on this topic when receiving my new mainsail.
I posted the question on CF and got very useful answers. You can look into the posts I started from my profile and will find it easily. I am on my mobile so cannot share it here.
I ended up with 3 rounds of dyneema 3mm, easier than sewing webbing esp if one needs adjusting - works perfectly for several years now
