Wink New Lagoon 50! (For Owners & Fans...)

Hi all,

I’m so excited because I’m waiting for a new Lagoon 50!

The wait is long because the delivery is foreseen in May 2019, but I would like to use this long period to exchange some opinions with other users that have already bought this new catamaran…

Thanks in advance!

I understand your joy!
Would you share which options are offered and which ones you took?
Did you have a chance to sail one before ordering?
I have been unable to read/watch an actual sailing review! just dockside(video) reviews.
Cheers

Hello Valiente,
here attached you can find the official pricing list (French) with all options available for this Lagoon 50 including the options I selected.

I made the deal but I can still change things until September. So I would appreciate value advice at this stage from those who have already received the Lagoon 50 or from experts in the field.

I had a chance to try the 50 after the Nautic Expo in Barcelona in October 2017, unfortunately no wind that day!!!

Congrats Alex,

I'm 'wel jel'!!! I'm no expert on the 50, in fact I've never even seen one but there may be some interesting info in my 450 thread in which I asked exactly the same question 18 months ago.

Search for 'just signed on a new 450S'. the guys on here offered so much help and advice that I think you could benefit from too.

All the best,

Dave

Re: New Lagoon 50!

Thanks Dave!
First of all are you actually satisfied with your Lagoon?

Indeed, there are few catamarans lagoon 50 around and this is the reason why I’m very curious to find someone to get feedback.

Your thread is very interesting. I noticed that you installed the AC after delivery, am I right ? Was the installation simple or it is better to buy this option from Lagoon?

Re: New Lagoon 50!

In a nut shell... YES we LOVE it. We bought exactly the right boat for us which is all that matters. It's very hard to get everything you want in a boat but for us, we have just about achieved it.

We still don't have AC because I ran out of money. The mrs isn't happy as she's currently in a marina in Miami with no breeze. Ooops! I do believe it's easy after market tho and you can get exactly the system you want. When I do fit it in ours, I'll be getting 3 smaller units (8000btu each) so that I can run 1 unit all night off batteries.

Everything is much easier to buy from Lagoon but do you get what you want and can you afford it?

Hi!
I would ask you all some feedback about one issue regarding the kitchen…
As option, is it better to install an additional freezer or fridge?
Do you have any advice?

Re: New Lagoon 50!

My opinion:
you want 2 fridges and 1 freezer. Drawer ones are better if that's an option.

Re: New Lagoon 50!

hey Alex, congrats on your new boat.
we installed AC aftermarket.
opted for 2 separate units (2x16.000btu) installed under the seat in the living area.
vents in each cabin and 1 unit dedicated for each site.
awesome, no noise in the cabins , with variabel opening vents, so each one can chose the amount of cold air coming in.
only need to install a soft start, so I can run 1 unit from the inverter.

Good Morning Alex, I looked closly true your Optionlist and only 1 point I would rethink is the Canoeboom as it can occur a lot of trouble because of its heavier weight, in a seaway -when the boat start rolling or with light winds from behind. Sometimes it is not easy to "tame" a regular boom, but it is more difficult with the Canoe one. Appart from that, congrats on your decision!

Greetings

Alex, friends of ours paid for the canoe boom but disliked it so much they left it on the quayside before crossing the Atlantic.

Hello Amberina, thanks for your reply...Just one question about the AC with inverter...do you have solar panel to charge your battery? How many KW?

Thanks guys! Just to be sure, I attach you the pic of this new type of canoe boom on the Lagoon 50...someone is aware of other negative experiences with the CanoeBoom from Lagoon?
